Nigeria Records First Female Table Tennis Umpire.

16th July 2014 It’s not all doom and gloom as Nigeria has recorded its first female table tennis umpire invited to officiate at the Commonwealth Games starting on the 23rd of July.

Cecilia Arinye is Director of Sports for the University of Lagos and says ”My hard work and contributions to the sport both in Nigeria and outside the country earned me the slot. I ensure that I go for trainings as regards table tennis umpiring. I make sure that I attend officiating programmes both locally and internationally; I make additional efforts at all times,” she said.

We look forward to seeing more and more Africans distinguish themselves in the non-playing part of football – with sports evolving around the world – Africa needs to get updated and definitely stay updated.
