2nd April 2015 Greetings fellas!
So, after taking to the polls during the weekend in a peaceful election, Nigerians finally have a new President elect – retired General Muhamadu Buhari in the early hours of yesterday, sparking a number of interesting responses from Nigerians including celebrities such as EME CEO Banky W who posted a lengthy article on his blog Bankywellington.blogspot.
Banky W expressed his appreciation of Buhari’s perseverance after having lost at the polls 3 times before winning, as well as honoring President Jonathan for achieving free and fair elections.
In addition, Banky W gave thumbs up to Nigerian youths, websites and blogs such as LindaIkeji.blogspot.com, Bella Naija and others.
Banky W rounded off by giving thumbs and saying “Ello Bae” to General Buhari’s daugher, Zahra, who had been trending on twitter lately.
President Goodluck Jonathan supporters such as Nollywood actress Ini Edo gave a tribute to President Jonathan for his assistance to Nollywood and says she congratulates General Buhari on his victory even though she didn’t vote for him.
And Nollywood actress Toyin Aimakhu who once said she would die for the ruling party PDP satirically compares the party’s loss to that of Arsenal Football Club which hasn’t won any trophy in a long time but their supporters still love them.
Toyin congratulates the opposition party for its win, urging Nigerians to stay out of trouble, saying “No politician is worth our blood”.
Now we can safely assume she wouldn’t die for any politician after all.
And Nollywood actress cum singer Tonto Dikeh expresses her joy at the outcome of the Presidential elections, saying “My heart is Joyed. I didn’t sell my voice nor choice nor vote… Off the record, I just won 7 million Naira on Mr. President”.
Looks like Pokolee has been doing some gambling.
