May 6 , 2015 The Nigeria quartet of Blessing Okagbare, Regina George, Dominique Duncan and Christy Udoh have set a new national record in the 4 X 200M after they arrived ahead of the Jamaican and Bahamas teams, at the IAAF/BTC World Relays on Saturday, second of May in the Bahamas
Queen of the tracks, Blessing Okagbare revealed that the secret to the team’s success was that the athletes had the choice of picking their teammates rather than the officials, as is the norm.
The 2014 Commonwealth double gold medalist took to her facebook wall on Sunday to say “For the first time, we the athletes made some decisions as a team to choose who can deliver and deserves to run this race since the officials are very good at messing up things and yes, we did it.
“Sometimes it’s not about what they want but, our feelings and opinions should be taken into consideration. I am really thankful to God everything worked out to the glory of His name because, we weren’t the best team out there but we came to win regardless…Congratulations ladies…”
From us here, many congrats, we are happy the plan panned out absolutely well and by the way, that shade was thrown verrry nicely.
