Platini arrives for CAS hearing
Dec 10, 2015 Michel Platini recently appeared at the Court of Arbitration for Sport to appeal his FIFA ban, which is barring him from seeking the presidency of the soccer governing body.
Platini, who until recently was the widely regarded as the man to lead FIFA after Sepp Blatter, is currently serving a 90-day suspension by FIFA’s ethics committee pending a full investigation into his conduct.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport said it had invited both Platini and FIFA’s legal representatives to the hearing, during which they deliberated on whether or not the provisional 90-day suspension imposed on Platini should be temporarily lifted.
FIFA is due to elect a replacement for Sepp Blatter on Feb. 26 2016.
Platini, who has registered as a candidate, will not be allowed to take part, except his ban is lifted.
