Pope Francis meets 2015 Nobel Peace Prize winners

Nov 12, 2015 Pope Francis recently met some members of Tunisia’s National Dialogue Quartet, winners of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.

The quartet, which consist of the Tunisian General Labor Union, the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, the Tunisian Human Rights League and the Tunisian Order of Lawyers, was honored for their contribution to Tunisia’s democracy.

During the meeting, the pope congratulated the delegation on their recent accolade and described the quartet as architects of peace.

Pope Francis then gave members of the delegation a medal of his pontificate and a copy of the encyclical “Praised be” in French.

In return, he received a volume of forensic history and a picture of Mahatma Gandhi.
