Presidential candidate Chung says FIFA should still run football
Oct 02, 2015 South Korean FIFA presidential candidate, Chung Mong-joon recently insisted that soccer’s embattled governing body should still be allowed to run the sport, however with a new leadership.
While insisting that he is the right man to lead change, Chung said he is in supported of the ongoing investigations into alleged corruption in FIFA.
“The most urgent task at hand is to root out corruption from FIFA. Investigations into illegal activities of the past should be left to the proper legal authorities,” Chung said.
The 63-year-old billionaire scion of South Korea’s Hyundai industrial conglomerate went on to say:
“Justice must be served. Resuscitating FIFA should be left to those who love football. The future of football should not be left to outsiders,”
