Prince Harry falls off horse during charity polo match

Dec 02, 2015 Prince Harry of Wales recently participated in a charity polo match in South Africa’s Cape Town in aid of his Sentebale charity, which supports underprivileged young people in Lesotho.

The charity match, which was first held in 2010, has raised over 3 million pounds from events in the UK, US, Brazil, Barbados and Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the work of the organization, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, a co-founder of the charity said:

“I was first formally introduced to Harry in 2004 during his gap year, he came to Lesotho for two months, and basically we just lost ourselves in the mountains. I was already working with charities, local and international organisations. So I took him to places I had been working with. Where we have groups of vulnerable people, young people. When I say vulnerable, some are economically vulnerable, some mental physical vulnerabilities, some are HIV vulnerabilities,”

Harry, who is an accomplished polo player like his father, was thrown off his horse but apparently sustained no injury.

Malcolm Borwick, an English polo professional, commented on the game saying:

“It’s a little bit disappointing to lose a game, but that’s not the exercise of today. The purpose of today is to try and raise money for Prince Harry’s charity – The Sentebale Charity in Lesotho – and I hope from what we’ve played on the polo field will make people realise is that what we are doing here today having had a beautiful day here watching polo in Val De Vie, that they have to consider what other people are suffering around the world and give generously to the charity,”
