Nov 23, 2015 England’s Justin Rose recently asserted that he stands a good chance of winning the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Speaking at a news conference on the eve of the tournament, Rose said:
“That was my whole goal was to come into this tournament with a chance that if I win then I have a great chance to win it. I actually don’t know the maths on it. If I win and Rory (McIlroy) finishes second I’m not sure if he still wins or if I win I don’t know, but it’s going to be very close from that point of view but you know the way I see it, if I win this tournament I’d be very unlucky not to win the Race to Dubai, so for the most part I’ve done my job of getting to this point in the season with a great chance to win it all.”
Rose, who won the 2013 U.S Open, will be going toe-to-toe with two of golf’s best for the “Race to Dubai” title. The competitors include world number three; Rory McIlroy and world number six Henrik Stenson.
“I would say me, Rory (McIlroy) and Henrik (Stenson) all of us have played incredibly well at this venue the last few years so you know there’s a pretty fair chance that one of us is going to be there on Sunday. And you know, obviously we’re all hoping it’s going to be the right guy from our own point of view. But there’s definitely going to be a lot of challenge this week and whoever wins is going to still have to play their best golf.”
