South Africa listed in the top 25 most attractive countries for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

10 June 2014 While Zimbabwe is celebrating its position as the jewel in Africa’s tourist crown, South Africa is enjoying the fact that it has been named as the only African country listed in the top 25 most attractive countries for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), according to a new report.

The report, the A.T. Kearney’s 2014 Foreign Direct Investment Confidence Index tell us that South Africa climbed two spots from 15th position.

The South African government is excited about the report and has pointed to it as a sign that South Africa’s focus on development is bearing fruit. Acting CEO of the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Phumla Williams has also pointed out the government’s tax relief incentives and its focus on renewable energy as 2 more factors that have contributed to South Africa’s attractiveness to foreign investors.
