South African celebs open case against Penny Sparrow

Jan 08, 2016 Over to South Africa, where black celebs have lent their voices to the recent racist comments by white realtor Penny Sparrow who was trending on twitter for publicly calling black South Africans monkeys on the beaches on New Year Eve.

Among them were DJ Sbu and Zakes who opened a police case of crimen injuria – described as willful injury to someone’s dignity caused by the use of obscene or racially offensive language – against Penny Sparrow.

Realtor Penny Sparrow had given a half-hearted apology which is not doing much to help the matter.
