23rd Sep 2014 There have been different speculations regarding the future of super eagle coach and technical advisor, Stephen Keshi with the national team. We’ve shared the ups and downs, maybes and hopefullys, but this is one situation that just refuses to be resolved. For those of us who hoped that Mr Keshi’s presence at the Nation’s Cup qualifiers meant that the end was in sight, he wants to set that record straight. In a phone in interview, Mr Keshi has clearly stated that no negotiations regarding his salary have been concluded and he is yet to accept any terms. The Coach added that the delay in negotiations may have a lot to do with the fact the current issues with the Nigerian Football Federation. He urged Nigerians to stand by the team and is quoted as saying this regarding AFCON 2015, “by God’s grace we will be in morocco in 2015”. Hmmm, the Nigerian team is currently the defending AFCON champions and so we know we’re not asking for too much when we think that perhaps this matter has gone on for far longer than necessary.
