Successful charity ball for Didier Drogba foundation

May 14 , 2015 Any African remotely interested in football is no stranger to Didier Drogba and his various humanitarian deeds.

Very recently, we told you that the footballer hosted his annual charity ball with such esteemed guests as Petr Cech, Eden Hazard, Bransilav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, Nemanja Matic, Thierry Henry, Louis Saha, Edgar Davids, Jermaine Defoe and John Terry present.

Well, the player must be very happy as he raised an impressive £400,000 from the charity ball. The money will be used to complete and equip the medical clinic that the Didier Drogba Foundation funded and built in the country’s capital, Abidjan.

The clinic is set to open this year and the Foundation will in addition, deploy mobile clinics that will operate in villages outside Abidjan.

Once he’s done with healthcare, the philanthropic footballer intends to turn his attention to education, by building schools in Ivory Coast.

Talk about a real heart of gold.
