Swimmers showcase skills at competition

6th April 2015 Over one hundred swimmers braved the cold temperature inside and out of the water to show the stuff they were made of in the 5th edition of the Bank Windhoek Long Course Gala and the Aqua Pentathlon, which happened at the spectacular Olympia swimming pool.

The gala ran for about three hours and it featured mainly short contests such as the 50 meters swim.

Daniela Lindemeier was top ranked for her swim in the 50 meters breaststroke with 649 FINA points. She was followed by Zanré Oberholzer who came in second place with 587 FINA points, and then Arthur Loftie-Eaton, ranked third for his swim in the 50 meters breaststroke with 550 points.

The aqua pentathlon started off with great weather and swimmers competed for first, second and third places before cloudy skies appeared but despite the weather it was a successful event.

For that event, top place men went to Bernard Theron from the Dolphins, while Toni Roth from Namib Swimming Academy took the top place for women. Henner Pade from Dolphins won the junior prize for men, while the junior prize for women went to Victoria Ellmies from Dolphins.
