The country’s first-found MERS infected person has left hospital.

July 2, 2015 It’s good news for and from China as the country’s first diagnosed patient with the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) has left hospital.

Kim, a South Korean man who came to China on a business trip on May 26, was happy for the efforts of Chinese health care givers.

“Thanks very much for those doctors and medical staffers who were taking care of me carefully when I was treated in hospital. I was recovering fast in recent days. I also highly appreciate the Academician Zhong Nanshan who attached great importance to my situation. Thanks every one again,”

Ling Yun, director of the Intensive Care Unit of Huizhou People’s Hospital, in south China‘s Guangdong province talked about Kim and his recovery

“The infected person has normal temperature with all clinical symptoms having disappeared. The successive two pathogen detections, with interval of two or four days, showed negative results, which conforms to the standard,”

The 44-year-old survivor has left for his country.
