The Fight Against Ebola Takes a Positive Financial Turn.

19th Aug 2014 The fight against the dangerous viral disease that has been plaguing the western African region seem to have taken a financial turn as many concerned bodies are putting up funds to aid combat the virus.

Last week was Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote with the donation of N150 million ($924,000) which spearheaded the establishment of a National Ebola Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) in Yaba, Lagos.

Now reports from Ventures Africa has it that Africa’s capitalist and philanthropist, Tony Elumelu has committed N100 million ($617,000), through his foundation, to help battle the outbreak in West Africa. While 50 percent of the fund has been reserved for Nigeria, the other half will be distributed across Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia.
