19th Aug 2014 Some well-meaning individuals and private bodies are really keen on providing platforms and organization to uphold Women empowerment in Africa. One of such commendable platforms is the She Leads Africa; a platform that looks to empower female entrepreneurs in the continent and galvanize their SMEs to pan-African enterprises. The She Leads Africa organization has started off with an Entrepreneur Showcase pitch competition which is aimed at introducing the continent’s most promising female entrepreneurs to investors, accelerators, and mentors looking to invest in Africa’s future game changers.
According to tech cabal, the organization has announced its top 10 finalists for the competition who were selected from a pool of 380 applications based in more than 27 African countries; these young entrepreneurs are believed to be the cream of the crop of female entrepreneurs across the continent.
The finalists are: Afrocentric Bamboo Limited, Banke Kuku Textiles, Fashpa Lagos, Lizzie’s Creations, Loue 1 Voiture (Book 1 Car) – Casablanca Morrocco, Mamelette-Lagos, MKP Fast Foods – Johannesburg, Night Bus – Johannesburg, Rare Customs, Thandos – Lagos.
These lucky 10 will present their businesses to a panel of renowned business leaders, investors from leading venture capital firms, and the media on September 20th in Lagos and compete for more than $30,000 in cash and prizes.
