Two Nigerian children selected as Champions League mascots
June 9, 2015 Two Nigerian children, Abba Ahmed and Jordan Ubah have been selected as official mascots in the UEFA Champions league final in Berlin after winning a contest by MasterCard. The contest had parents, teachers and football coaches share videos of their children and students performing goal celebrations on social media, to stand a chance to win the opportunity. A good opportunity it is too, the children get an all-expense paid trip with their families to watch the UEFA Champions League Final.
The winning children will walk through the tunnel and onto the pitch, escorting star players from FC Barcelona and Juventus. This means that they will get to experience the buzz and excitement of the pre-match build up.
Omokehinde Ojomuyide, Vice President and Area Business Head, MasterCard, West Africa said “Taking to the field for a UEFA Champions League Final is one of the absolute highlights in any footballer’s career. Our player mascots will enjoy an absolutely priceless experience on the pitch”
