Zidane shrugs off speculation over becoming new Real Madrid manager

Dec 23, 2015 Former French international Zinedine Zidane recently denied rumors that he was set to become the next Real Madrid manager.

Speculation has been growing in recent weeks following a string of poor results by Real Madrid’s first team.

Zidane then took the opportunity to put the issue to bed by saying:

“I don’t know why you’re asking me that question today. We have a first team coach who is doing his job and I’m here with Castilla. I believe our roles are fine the way they are at the moment. We should simply focus on that. I’m here with Castilla and a coach is always with his team. He (Rafa Benitez) is doing a good job, everybody is doing a good job and just because they lost a job we shouldn’t think about changing everything,”
