Five IS militants arrested at Turkey border.
June 24, 2015 Security forces in Turkey have announced the arrest of five Islamic State militants who were apprehended as they tried to cross over from the Syrian town of Tel Abyad. The militants were taken to the counter-terrorism division at a police station in southeastern province of Sanliurfa.
The capture of the town by the Kurdish YPG and smaller Syrian rebel groups means the Syrian Kurds effectively control some 400 kilometers of the Syrian-Turkish border that has been a channel for foreign fighters joining the insurgent group. Tel Abyad, on the border with Turkey, has been a main conduit for Islamic State to smuggle weapons and oil.
