Argentina train ahead of 2018 world cup qualifiers

Oct 09, 2015 Ahead of their first 2018 World Cup qualifiers, the Ecuadorean and Argentine national soccer teams recently hit the training pitch in preparations.

Currently standing at 31 in FIFA’s world ranking, Ecuador comes into the match as underdog against number-one-ranked Argentina.

Gustavo Quinteros, the national team coach of Ecuador is battling with an injury but his team insists that the injury will not affect their performance.

“I think that Quinteros’ condition does not have an influence on anything. It’s us who are going to play. I think that Quinteros has the help of collaborators and so we only have to follow what they say, focus on what we’re working for and what we’re doing. And beyond what is happening with his health, I think it doesn’t matter. We need to continue working in the same way,”

In Buenos Aires, the Argentine side hit the training field without Messi, who has been ruled out for two months with left knee ligament damage. Also missing on the Argentine side is Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, who has also been sidelined by a right knee injury.
