FC Barcelona team arrives in Japan
Dec 16, 2015 The FC Barcelona squad recently arrived in Japan to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Dozens of fans gathered at the Narita International Airport to welcome members of the Spanish football team.
The European champions, who face Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande on Thursday in the semi-final, are looking to become the first team ever to win the trophy on three occasions.
European sides have won the competition in seven of the last eight years, with Corinthian’s victory over Chelsea in 2012 the only exception.
20 year old university student Leo Osaki, who spent the night at the airports said:
“I got to see the real Andres Iniesta. It was exciting,”
Another fan, Rie Sekine said:
“It was just like looking at his pictures. He has such a strong presence,”
