Zimbabwe's Mugabe meets with Japanese Emperor

Mar 30, 2016 Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace recently met with the Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko during an official visit to Japan.

The Zimbabwean first family travelled to Japan on the invitation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in a bid to strengthen diplomatic ties between both countries.

After a brief meeting at the Imperial palace, Mugabe and Grace were treated to a luncheon by Emperor Akihito and his wife.

Later on, Mugabe sat down with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, for high-level talks and dinner.
