Chelsea beat Barcelona on penalties after thriller
Aug 3, 2015 The current English premier league champions ended their pre-season tour in the United States by defeating European champions Barcelona, after a thrilling 2-2 draw in Maryland.
Belgian playmaker, Eden Hazard opened the scoresheet by adding another eye-catching goal to his increasingly impressive collection and the Blues held on to the lead until half-time.
Barcelona was back on level terms through Luis Suarez , 12 minutes after the restart and then took the lead with a shot from Sandro Ramirez.
Chelsea however pulled the game level close to stoppage time courtesy of a well-timed spring and head from Gary Cahill who took a smack in the face in the process.
The final whistle saw the game on level terms and the winner had to be decided on penalties.
Falcao, Victor Moses, Ramirez and Loic Remy were all on point for the London outfit.
Andres Inesta and Sandro Ramirez both found the back of the net but Chelsea’s shot stopper repeated his PSG heroics again by stopping Piques shot while Alan Halilovic hit the cross bar.
