COULD SOUTH AFRICA BE PLANNING A BID FOR NIGERIA’S STEPHEN KESHI?

13 Feb 2014 – We also have a report from ThisDay Live, outlining speculations that Nigeria’s coach Stephen Keshicould be approached to take up the position of the next coach of BafanaBafana.

Disappointed by the early exit of Bafana at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), SAFA is keen to find a replacement for present coach Gordon Igesund and are looking for a credible and experienced trainer who can turn things around from the grassroots, just like Keshi has done with players from the Nigerian league.

A source close to the association is quoted as saying in reference to Stephen Keshi“I believe he will achieve with the team, his track records have proved this.We know he cannot leave his job now but we are targeting talking to him after the World Cup in Brazil,”

Keshi’s contract with the Nigeria Football Federation which runs until November 2015 has been slated for extension; however his immediate task is to impress with the Super Eagles at the World Cup in Brazil
