Ghana certifies its first team masseurs
25th Feb 2015 Nineteen Team Masseurs have graduated from the first ever training course held at the University of Ghana’s College of Health Sciences, Korle Bu, Accra. The group of women and men, have their certificates as proof of their qualification following their twelve week training. Some participants at the training included some masseurs from the national teams, Premier League Clubs and Division One League Clubs.
Present at their graduation ceremony was the President of Ghana’s football association, Kwesi Nyantakyi who thanked the University and College Authorities for their partnership with the sports association, while congratulating the successful graduands.
The Dean of the School Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences, Prof. Patrick Ayeh-Kumi, also in attendance, thanked the GFA for its initiative and called for more collaboration in the area of Medicine and Sports Science. He added that the School intends to introduce a similar course for team physiotherapists.
