Heaven’s Helpers

“We have seen a lot of women begging in the street. We found out that most of them are widows, without any support, trying to get money to take care of themselves and their families. Conflicts are also causing women to suffer. Some have had to leave their omes and families, left with no means of  livelihood.”

What do you do for these women? “We run Da’Awah Family Support Association. It is an organization that supports widows and poor women. We provide skills and vocational training so that women can start small businesses instead of resorting to begging or prostitution. We also sponsor orphans to go to school so that they can have greater opportunities.”

What motivates you? “Every religion instructs us to help the poor, the widows and orphans. We are fulfilling our moral duty by serving humanity. Service to humanity is service to God.”

The Da’Awah Family Support Association is helping widows and orphans create a better life for themselves. They are special, they are Naija Diamonds. Every Saturday at 20:30 CAT (19:30 WAT), watch their story and those of other people who are serving humanity only on EbonyLife TV DSTV channel 165.
