IOC opens three-day executive board meeting in a scandal-shaken sports world

Dec 10, 2015 Members of the International Olympic Committee executive board recently gathered in Lausanne for a three day meeting aimed at address the prevail scandals engulfing the sporting community.

In attendance was Craig Reedie, president of the World Anti-Doping Agency, who reported on the doping crisis that has enveloped Russian athletics.

Also on the agenda were concerns over next year’s Rio de Janeiro Olympics Questions were raised over Brazil’s financial downturn and the quality of water at event sites.

Rio Olympic organizers are in the final stretch of preparations, but the organizing committee Chief Carlos Nuzman moved to reassure the IOC that preparations remain on-track.
