Nigeria qualifies in Tunisia
23rd March 2015 The efforts of teenage girls Oyinlomo Quadri and Charity Patrick at the ongoing 38th ITF/CAT African Junior Tennis Championship in Tunisia has seen Nigeria qualify for the quarterfinal of the girls’ U14 doubles as the pair of defeated Evelyn Kwizora of Rwanda and Jackline Kayuga of Tanzania 6-0, 6-1.
Patrick was defeated by Kermene Kpadonou of Benin Republic in the first round of the singles while Quadri advanced to the next round of the girls’ U14 singles. They were able to rebound however and put up an impressive display to set up a quarterfinal clash with Moroccan duo, Hiba El kalifi and Oumaima Aziz who were drawn bye.
Mohammed Ubale, coach to Nigeria had predicted a very tough tournament for his players who have consistently dominated the West & Central African zone because of the strong players from countries like South Africa , Zimbabwe , Morocco , Tunisia , and Egypt, to mention some.
