Sports News: Bafana Bafana's Tokelo Rantie to be Abscent from AFCON 2015
25th Nov 2014 Despite the qualification for the nations cup in 2015, it seems like South African side Bafana Bafana might still have a lot of work to do to ensure that they don’t run into trouble when the tournament kicks off next year.
According to TimesLive SA, Bafana Bafana’s man of the moment, Tokelo Rantie, is unlikely to feature in the 2015 African Nations Cup finals after dislocating his shoulder. The attacker was injured playing for Bournemouth against Ipswich Town in the Championship and Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says Rantie will be missing “for a period of time”.
He is quoted on the Bournemouth website as saying “The boy has worked so hard to get himself in good form. I think he is going to be out for a period of time, which is a huge blow,” He adds “I know it’s a shoulder injury. It looks like he might have dislocated his shoulder, but we will wait and see what the diagnosis is.”
Coach Shakes Mashaba is already desperately looking for attacking options, and with the games only 2 months away, this is doubly bad news for him.
